Electronic devices and water does not go together, that’s the perception we had till date. Some of these phones are water repellent and not IP certified.
Sony Xperia Z3
Xperia Z3 has 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display with Live Colour LED powered by X-Reality and the screen is brighter 600 cd brightness and has smaller bezels on the sides. The Z3 compact comes with a 4.6 inch HD display with 1280 X 720 p resolution and is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. The device also comes with 2GB of RAM and has 16GB internal storage which is expandable to 128GB via microSD card. The phone runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat and also comes with 20.7MP Primary Camera with Exmos RS sensor, HDR photos & videos, 4K video recording. There is also 2.2 MP front-facing camera with 1080p video recording. The device also has IP65/68 rating for dust and water resistance. The Sony Xperia Z3 compact comes in white, black, orange and green and is priced at Rs. 33,490.
Samsung Galaxy S5
Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.2 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display and runs on a 2.5 Ghz Quad core processor along with 2GB RAM. The device runs the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat. There is also a 16MP camera with LED Flash and 4k recording capabilities. There is also a 2.1MP front facing camera. Galaxy S5 will be dust and water resistant and is IP67. The device will ship with 16/32GB internal memory and it is expandable to 64GB via microSD card. There is support for 4G LTE and comes with Samsung’s core applications like S Travle, S Voice, S Health and more. There is also 2800mAh battery with the device. The device is priced at Rs. 24,999.
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua
The Xperia M4 Aqua comes with a 5.0 inch HD display (1280 X 720p) and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa Core processor and this is the first Sony smartphones powered by this processor. There is 2GB RAM and 8 GB/16 GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card. Xperia M4 Aqua’s impressive 13MP rear camera is powered by Sony’s Exmor RS mobile sensor with a large F2.0 aperture, and ISO 3200 sensitivity. There is also 5MP selfie camera has a super wide-angle lens with an 88° field of view. The phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Features Waterproof and dust tight (IP65 and IP68). HTC Desire Eye
It is a selfie camera smartphone and comes with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera and has a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Corning Gorilla glass protection. The phone is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with new HTC Sense UI. There is also a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 13-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens and dual LED flash that makes it a perfect selfie smartphone. This is probably the best featured selfie camera available as of now. The phone also comes with dedicated two-step camera key for focus, and capture for comfortable one-handed captures. Water Resistant Phones:
These phones are not really IP certified but it does come with water repellent coating, so they can be used in situations like rain, but cannot be submerged inside water.
Moto G
The new Moto G comes with 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU with 1GB RAM. The device runs Android KitKat out of the box. It features 1GB RAM, 8GB / 16GB internal memory, expandable memory with microSD. On the imaging front, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 2MP front-facing camera. The device supports Dual SIM (Optional) and packs a 2070 mAh battery. All the Moto Series phones are water repellent and not water resistant and does not have IP certification.The device is priced at Rs. 10,999.
Moto Turbo
The device comes with a 5.2 (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED display. It is powered by 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (APQ8084) processor and runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop). On the imaging front it features 21MP rear camera with dual LED flash and 2MP front-facing camera. The device is water repellent and has 3GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. Connectivity features include 4G LTE / 3G, WiFi 802.11a/g/b/n/ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, GLONASS, NFC and it also packs a 3900 mAh battery. It is priced at Rs. 41,999.
Moto E (2015)
The Moto E 2015 features a 4.5 inch qHD display and is powered by a 1.2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad Core Processor or 1.2Ghz Snapdragon 200 Quad Core Processor (3G variant). There is 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, up from 4GB on the first gen. The company has launched both the 3G and 4G LTE variant in India. Except for the processor, rest all features are same on both the devices. Similar to other Motorola phones, the Moto E will also be Flipkart exclusive. The new Moto E also comes with water resistant coating and also has front camera, which was missing in 1st generation model. The device is priced at Rs 6999.
