ASUS Zenfone Selfie with 13MP Front Camera and Snapdragon 615 Processor Announced

At the Computex, the annual tech event in Asia, ASUS has announced the new Zenfone Selfie, a smartphone focused on better selfie experience. Of late, lot of OEMs have been focusing on front camera and we have seen Sony and HTC announce selfie focused device. The new Zenfone Selfie comes 13MP front and rear cameras and on top of this, both the cameras have dual LED flash.

The Zenfone Selfie comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD display with 403ppi and has Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The device is powered by Snapdragon 615 Octa core processor. ASUS has been using Intel processor for their Zenfones and this is the first time the company has used Snapdragon chipset.

The phone also comes with rear 13MP camera with dual LED flash and laser auto focus similar to the one found on LG G4. The phone has design very similar to Zenfone 2 and we are expecting the device to come with Android 5.0 Lollipop. The front camera on the device has f/2.2 with its 88-degree field of view and there is also panorama mode that extends this to 140 degrees, letting you easily take group pictures.

There is no mention on the battery and also the pricing and release date. We will update this once the press release from ASUS gets underway.

Windows 10 to Release on Aug 31st, Prices Leaked by Newegg

Windows 10 is the upcoming OS from Microsoft and company has already released preview version and has been updating it with new features. Windows 10 is slated to release later this year. But now, we have some leaked information on the release date and also the pricing of Windows 10 via online site Newegg. As per the Pre-order listing on Newegg, Windows 10 is slated to release on August 31st.

Microsoft had released Windows 8 in October and so was 8.1 which was made available to public on October 17th. Going by this leak, we are expecting Windows 10 to ship a bit early than expected.

Now coming to the pricing, Microsoft has already mentioned that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for all eligible systems in the first year and if you are looking to buy a new copy, the Windows 10 Professional version is $149.99 and Home version is priced $109.99. This is actually $10 higher than the respective pricing of Windows 8.

Newegg has already put this for pre-order with all the details included. Meanwhile Microsoft hasn’t made available the final pricing or release dates of Windows 10. The company also clarified that pirated versions of Windows 8 or 7 can be upgraded, but they wont be available as a free upgrade, but offered at a competitive pricing.

We can expect Microsoft to announce more details on release and pricing of Windows 10 this month.

LG G4 Dual SIM to be Priced Rs 51500 in India

LG had announced their flagship device, the LG G4 last month and now we have some news on the launch and pricing of G4 in India. According to a retailer Mahesh Telecom, the price of dual SIM variant of LG G4 is expected to be around Rs 51500. Although we do not have any confirmation from LG, this post on Facebook seems fairly accurate. This could also be the MRP of the device and MOP could be below Rs 50000 as listed by Infibeam.

LG G4 comes with 5.5 inch Quad HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor which is clocked at 1.8GHz and Adreno 418 GPU. The phone features 3GB of RAM and comes with 32GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card to 128GB.

The phone comes with 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Another interesting aspect of the device is the leather rear panel which comes in different colors.

According to the retailer there are some launch offers included as well.

3 Ways to Remove Meta Data from Word Documents

Whenever you create, open, or save a document in Microsoft Word, the document may store information also known as metadata. Meta data is hidden information about the document and this also applies to Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft PowerPoint files as well. Metadata is used for a variety of legitimate purposes, and it adds functionality to the editing, viewing, filing, and retrieving capabilities of Microsoft Office. However, if some of this information is passed on to inappropriate parties, that disclosure can create adverse consequences for you and your client. In order to avoid these consequences, you should make yourself familiar with the types of metadata contained in your documents and take steps to remove it whenever necessary.

Some of the information stored in meta data includes, your name, initials, company name, computer name etc.

In this article we are listing out the ways to remove the meta data including free apps and also in-built option in Word.

1. Using the option in Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint:

If you are using Word 2010 or Word 2013 (Office 2013), you can remove the hidden data from either privacy settings or from the back stage menu. Click on the File tab and then select Check for Issues option. From the dropdown list select Inspect Document.

This will open the document inspector and you can select the option which you want to inspect. Make sure you select the second option (Document properties and Personal Information). Now run the inspector tool.

Once complete, it will show the option to remove all the personal information. Click on Remove all button.

2. Document Metadata Cleaner:

Document Metadata Cleaner is a freeware tool which allows you to delete meta data from Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint. It can remove name, initials, company or organization name, name of your computer, name of the network server or hard disk where you saved the document, names of previous document authors, Document revisions, Document versions, Hidden text or cells and also comments.

3. Doc Scrubber:

Doc Scrubber is another free tool to analyze and scrub hidden and potentially embarrassing data in Word documents. Doc Scrubber has two options, one to scan a document for any hidden data and second one to scrub the data from any select document or a folder of documents.
