Check Out This Free Online Language Learning Platform

As someone who has spent the past three and a half years trying to master Spanish, I can tell you from personal experience that learning a new language ain’t easy. Of course, I may have made it a bit harder on myself by 1) refusing to take any classes and 2) moving to, like, six different countries during that time period.

For people who are looking to be a bit more traditional about their language learning path and who don’t want to spend mucho dinero (see, I speak Spanish) on classes, let me introduce i2istudy. It’s a language learning platform that won’t cost you a cent and will hook you up with native speakers who can help you learn a whole new language.

Here’s how it works. Let’s say that I want to bump up my español even further. I can sign up for i2istudy as a native English speaker and ask to be paired with a native Spanish speaker. I have two options for “paying,” either through tutoring people in English or with money that I’d deposit in my account.

“But I’m not a teacher!” you’re probably thinking now. No worries – i2istudy’s online language learning platform has already taken that factor into account. Their technology walks you through the teaching process, step-by-step, which means that you don’t need formal training to hop onto their platform.

“On i2istudy, methodology of teaching is separated from the native speaker. You can even learn Spanish with a gardener from Spain, if this gardener has good pronunciation and can read the hints from the screen,” says founder Ilya Osipov. “The system is so user-friendly and interactive that my 10-year-old son teaches English and Russian to other kids from Latin America. In return, he learns Spanish – he doesn’t speak very well for now, but he is making progress.”

The site started in Russia, but the founders decided to leave the country when they found that the investing environment there was untenable for their business. After turning down government funding, the team relocated to the US. Since moving, they’ve obtained an initial $300k investment from private investors in Russia, Latvia, and the US.

Don’t be surprised if i2istudy pulls in much more than that in the future, however. The site launched in November of last year and already boasts more than 50,000 users.

i2istudy currently offers four languages: English, Spanish, Russian, and German. They’re looking to expand to new countries and languages.

Are you ready to learn something new? Head over to i2istudy‘s online language learning platform now, and I can pretty much guarantee that your process will be a lot easier than mine has been.
