Honor series of phones have been pretty good in terms of the hardware and pricing and the company had launched multiple devices this year including the Honor 4X, 4C and the flagship Honor 6 Plus. While the company had announced that these devices would get the Lollipop update in couple of months time at the launch, this never happened.
But now Huawei has confirmed that all the phones under the Honor series launched in India this year and also the Honor 6 will be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in September.
The four devices which will be getting the update in the next two months will be Honor 4C, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 6 and Honor 4X. The schedule for the update is as follows.
- Honor 4C – 21st September
- Honor 6 Plus – 29th September
- Honor 6 – 25th September
- Honor 4X – 20th October
While Honor had confirmed that the updates will be available in September, the date has been made official now. While this is a good move from the company, the timing is not that great considering Android M (6.0) will be available in October.
Lot of OEMs in India are pretty slow in delivering latest Android updates and this is not just the case with Honor series.
