Elevator Pitch:

e27 is “a fully fledged tech media, events, and resource platforms that spans 14 countries in Asia Pacific region and the US.”

Why It’s A Killer Startup:

I have a confession to make: I tend to be very America-centric when it comes to my coverage of startups. That’s largely because, well, those are the communities that I’m directly involved with. I’ve lived in the Bay Area and NYC in North America, and Medellin, Buenos Aires, and Santiago – all startup hubs – in South America.

However, my boyfriend and I are about to relocate our digital nomad selves to Asia for the second half the year. You’re probably thinking: “Where in Asia, Emma? Asia’s a big place!” and you’d be absolutely right to wonder that. The reason I’m saying “Asia” instead of a specific country is because we plan on being all over the place. We’re starting in Japan, heading down to Bali, and then we’re going to tour SE Asia. I’d also love to return to India, if we can make it work, and China is definitely a possibility too.

So when I say “Asia,” I really do mean “Asia.”

In preparation for this epic journey, I’m turning to e27. They’re a blog/community/great resource for the startup community in the Asia Pacific region. Their homepage is a tech blog, but they also have stuff like events, jobs, and a searchable database of both startups and investors in their region.

Think of them as what would happen if TechCrunch and AngelList had an Asian baby.

e27 is also currently at work prepping for a massive tech conference, Echelon Asia Summit 2015. The Summit will take place from June 23-25 in Singapore and will feature 100 handpicked startups, access to top investors, serious networking, and the latest tech for you to play with. They’ve also pulled top speakers, like Dave McClure of 500 Startups and Michael Brown of Uber.

So if you’re currently kicking ass in one of the many startup hubs that the Asian continent has to offer (and which I’m getting more and more excited to discover soon), head over to e27 for community, and seriously consider hitting up Echelon in June.
