Paris is becoming the new poster child for Airbnb.
There are now Airbnb 40,000 listings in Paris, making it the most popular city on the service. By comparison, New York City boasts 33,000 listings; London has 23,000; Rio de Janeiro has 17,00; and Barcelona has 15,000, according to the rental company.
CEO Brian Chesky joined Paris Deputy Mayor Bruno Julliard on Thursday to announce that the next Airbnb Open will be held in the City of Light in November.
